Has anyone written any good, balanced unbiased books of the history of the BK, PBK and any other party involved history.

I would like to read such a book. Before he was banished from XBKChat, PBK Arjuna mentioned that in addition to the PBK chariot VDD there were about another five chariots. Do you know 'Peace and Purity: The Story of the Brahma Kumaris, A Spiritual Revolution' (1999) by Liz Hodgkinson? http://tinyurl.com/cblyk But this is only BK history and doesn't mention the PBKs. |

Thanks Uddhava, I didn't know of that book, it would be interesting to compare an old book to this new one. I am a little bit dubious as to where Liz Hodgkinson would have found her information, especially pre 1981 which is when she discovered BKs.
I am interested as to whether BKs have rewritten there history and why.
I did have a book 'Adi Dev - the first man', which I bought in 1984, I'm presuming it was written by Jagdish Chander, unfortunately I think it was lost in a house move. |

Just for the record, Liz Hodgkinson used to be married to Neville Hodgkinson. They came to the BK knowledge together and subsequently divorced very amicably.

God can use anyone at anytime. I have seen this happening so many times. God has even, suddenly, entered into non-BKs just to smile at me. I always recognised Him when He did that. When you look into the eyes you will know that God has entered the corporeal body and a good stage will help to confirm it. Just because God is using a specific chariot, it does not mean that that chariot is the greatest of the great. It is human beings who turn him/her into a great because of their body-conscious desire to have a corporeal guru who can lead them. Then, God will just flow along with that. One has to turn to God and not to the human gurus. _________________ God's angel.

problem is it could just be someones imagination or wishful thinking...
I'm talking about incarnations where at least some BKs, PBKs, yagya followers have also agreed it is an incarnation and have followed their teachings |

Stephan Nagel (formerly Surya) has written a history of the BKs for academic publication, with versions in English and German. As far as I know, the German version has been published, the English version still awaiting a publisher. You may like to contact him.
Lawrence Babb was one of the earliest to write about the BKs, as one of three modern Hindu-based religions. The most memorable episode for me was his going with BKs in Delhi to "serve" a couple who had joined then left the group. He mentioned the overflowing ashtrays in the house as a hint that the couple were unlikely to respond positively to the BK overtures.
In Japan, there is a cult/religion Risshokoseikai that has built a major political party, the Komeito. The group is infamous for high-pressure tactics in getting new members' family members and neighbors to join.
The are also known for their Most Important(tm) salvation-giving chant, Na Myo Hou Ren Gei Kyo, which I urge you to intone regularly if you seek salvation, and believe in hedging your bets. |
