Re: Hello, I am new here

to judge the 12-Step program and Oprah is not the best way as they have been very helpful to many people and have their place in American society. Well, rayoflight, I can understand ex-I's comment. I am not sure where ex-l is located. I admit I have a West-European mindset and watching Oprah for me...

Re: BK adherents and health

You might get a slightly better deal if you live in a Sisters house or if you are an indentured servant up at Mount Abu. Even for indentured servants, it is not obvious. They get permission to go Global Hospital. Not even when it concerns a life threatening disease. In many cases, they need to sort...

I would love to hear from other people's trance experiences. I am not sure if the experience I had can be labeled as a 'trance experience' but I will share it anyway. This is the first time I have talked about it because at the time I had this strange experience I was convinced it was Maya, caused ...

Re: How did we fool ourselves into believing the Brahma Kumaris?

27 Jul 2009

This is a strong post. I don't think we we fooled ourselves into believing the Brahma Kumaris. We WERE fooled. It gives me a new perspective. It seems that I, like many, got used to the idea to 'blame' it all to myself and start looking to my past and my unfulfilled hopes and dreams. Thinking this m...

Re: No Sex Marriages

I sometimes myself wonder 'what was I doing'? I won't go into much details here. Let's say I was Baba's shopkeeper. I'll be happy to give you the story off forum. I think specially when one has developed the habit of 'serving' within the BK very strong, this becomes a way of life. Having been so bus...

Now this is a refreshing way of interpreting the 'friends and family of' label! Maybe I should use it too :D

Re: No Sex Marriages

So funny: Kama Sutra on knives :D How much sex is truly necessary? The National Health service in Sheffield has an answer to that and is spreading leaflets amongst school pupils: an orgasm a day keeps the doctor away . Consequently, I screwed up more than few potentially healthy relationships being ...

Re: No Sex Marriages

What makes this subject so difficult is that sex, affection, love and intimacy seem to come out of the same box. Becoming a Brahma Kumari you learn that lust is evil and love is the opposite. The evil of lust is presented as extremely cunning: the biggest vice. So all physical contact is discouraged...

Re: How did we fool ourselves into believing the Brahma Kumaris?

Point 1: Fully agree. Hard to find out, still many years later I am trying to find out exactly why I was so happy to embrace everything the BK offered to me. It requires a deep look inside to find emotional gaps, unprocessed past, unfulfilled desires, hopes, dreams ... Point 2: Still trying to find ...

Hi meme, Welcome! It's good to see how you managed your way to disentangle the concepts of the BKWSU and found another point of view which makes far more sense to you. When I left the BK for the second time I started to explore a bit too in reading about evolution, the discovery of the cosmos, the w...

Re: Hello from Terry - The Power of Anonymity

You are a rebel :D ! I am the same ;) LOL, depending on which part of the world we are: rebel in the morning and rebel in the evening :D An organisation like the BK has no use for people like us. Looking for a family of free spirits I ended up in Zombie-land. You are quite right. When I came here a...

Re: BKWSU, the business, money and selling Gyan

Alladin wrote It was me starchild :-). Don't know if I am a lookalike, if so I don't mind because I like his contributions. The detachment that is practiced, the cutting off from the experiencing of beauty, whether it is in poetry, music, visual art, or nature is a real loss. I absolutely do agree ...

Re: Hullo from Terry - The Power of Archetypes

As far as I remember, when he was prying on you, you were quite a new member. It must have made you feel a little insecure? Thank you for asking, that is so kind. I did not felt insecure, but Terry had a certain tone of voice in his debate which I found agressive (in other threads I read the person...
