Use of Indian Sisters in positions of power

Post21 Aug 2007

I wanted to question the trend of the placement of Indian BK Sisters into position of responsibility, whether in the sort of front organizations or in centers. Is this an official policy?

We noticed from Di's experience and others that Indian Sisters had been placed into Western centers as center-in-charge. Also in Foundations like the Janki Foundation. Are the Indian Brahma Kumari Sisters seen as being more trustworthy, reliable and submissive, as they have less of an exit strategy than Western BKs and, culturally, are more likely to just fit in and not make waves? Is there an underpining of distrust towards Westerners?
Is it a question of "public image" that an Hindi in a sari is the BK look?
Is it a language thing, so that Dadi Janki and so on can communicate to them and conversations be held in Hindi?
It is merely practical, or "jobs for the girls"?
Are there elements of internal politics such as, e.g. Janki wanting a Hindi stooge in place so that she can keep tabs on what Jayanti and the Double Foreigners are up to in English? (That is supposing Janki cannot understand English).
Is it sexual, in that there are few to no Western virgins?
I remember a number of incidents where BK HQ parachuted an Indian into a center who was wholly unsuitable and inexperience of Western ways. I can question a few incidents where one has to wonder if a Westerner was used to start a center and then moved out the way to allow a Hindi to take their place. We have the example of the Hindi Sister in the Janki Foundation who has no formal medical background.

Underlying this there is the whole question if Indians are seen as being superior yogi and the BKWSU is a Hindu organization, despite what it says. We are still waiting to find out if all the Sisters being trained up as mediums to replace BK Gulzar are Hindi.

For those that have not seen it, I referred to a paper on "My Mother, Myself: Female Mystical Identity in Bengali Shaktism" to put this element of mediumship, or "Shaktism" in context and question if we are a whole lot closer to a "Shakti Cult" in the BKWSU that perhaps we care to admit?

It is interesting to note that Double Foreigners are often brought into circles of power, such as this Judy Rodgers, Denise Lawrence, Nikki de Carteret or even Heidi Fittkau in her time but apparently not occupy senior positions. We see Indians in Africa and Russia, is this also true in Latin countries?

good questions

The WHOLE list of possible answers you gave to your questions, makes a lot of sense and we have evidence of what's going on. It's not just imagination.

Just to tease once again , we could say that Indian folks, kajal, food and attires, add an exotic touch to the Raja Yoga schools. That's undeniable!

Someone on the forum mentioned that there was a fair deal of politics INSIDE the BKWSU between various Seniors. Its not too hard to imagine that each has their own "court followers" and "trusted servants", especially as it become larger, but was never that close to experience it.

Detectives

Post21 Aug 2007

When Sudesh was "shipped off" to save Germany boat from sinking - and this was the face saving reason given - many commented on how UK and London territory was too small for her and Jayanti to share. Other posters would know more.

Many times we just had feelings, or heard rumours. I know you like evidence, but many times we did not dare asking for more. We were given a clear sign that it was not politically correct to ask.

So now, for ex -BKs, it's a bit like putting together tassles of a puzzle, reconstructing, like a detective story!! And you see, not so many people ex- or actual BKs contribute in the task of understsnding and revealing the truth. They don't want the aggravation, perhaps.

Yes, and you would have to balance that with the whole Jayanti versus Suman ... it seems to me that it was not just about UK territory being too small for Sudesh and Jayanti but Europe being too small for Jayanti and ... another other challenger to the crown.

The rumours put about by the SS were criminal. I look forward to hearing from some German BKs or ex-BKs about what has gone down over there. Given the entirely Heidi, Suman, Surya chapters, the silence is exceptionally ominous ...

To me it seems that they opt for Indian Sisters because they 'at least' look and act sweeter, not being so Western ...

I remember in my time, when everybody was fed up with Luciana dictatorship in Brazil (one Brother had given her a book about Hitler's life), they thought about Sudesh taking over but Lucianas' power ($$) was bigger ...

Anyway, it is all about money, power, ego and possessions; just like the governments ... too sad !!

Freedom, you are really cute! I want to meet that Brother who gave Luciana the Hitler's biography. He must have had a great sense of humor!

I suppose they would say it has to be in order to write the script for the next Kalpa! I am definitely coming back on the revolutionaries side ... Ché, Zapata, Castro's side! It will be 2,500 years of sticking a stick up the bums of BK "royalty" for me after this forum, :D. But what glorious lives to live.

I do not know this Sister, what is her story? What ... usual stories of second birth BK ... did not she die young or something?

Hi, Alladin,

the Brother that gave her the book is still in Gyan but in US now. We were very close but he had his reasons to stick around and play the game ...
