One's attention is naturally drawn to more. More is the way of progress, more peace, more love, more strength etc. Tools are given to access more. An aspect of drama is that there is the time to learn to use these tools. As Baba is hidden so is our own consciouness. Tools of consciousness are subtle.
Let's take a concrete situation that I recall. I think the first foreign service outside England was in Germany. A Sister came to London from Madhuban on her way to the first service on the other side of the Atlantic. On the morning of her departure, I saw Dadi Janki holding a bunch of grapes over the Sisters mouth in the kitchen, as she did so waves of power came from them down the passageway which I felt near the front door. It was the power that caught my attention. Dadi filled her with an incredible blessing to take across the ocean. A carpet cleaner sees many things!
Now this situation contains more that is of value than many people see in their lifetime. I have been given tools for progress, the same tools that Dadi Janki uses and have so far attained little in comparison. This does not distress me, rather it gives me grounds for great hope. If that hope is to be more than a distant possibility I have to learn to use the tools well, various lessons have to be learnt. They are my lessons, no one else's, they are the means of progress and I am grateful for them. Whilst getting a little window into Dadi Jankis attainment is fortunate even more fortunate is having the tools to progress. It is the same for all of us.
There are many things that I do not understand but to have the faith that drama is beneficial for me in both the seen and unseen worlds is very useful. Rather than pine about something I cannot change I deal with what I can.
Western society is not enough for me. If, in contact with thought and being emanating from India, I happen to experience ecstasy that is good. That my attention should be drawn is natural and progressive and should inspire personal effort, no unkindness is intended, attention is drawn to incredible potential.
The Indian mind is more prepared for Gyan than the Western scientific/materialistic mind. The change that is necessary runs very deep with no stone left unturned. Although I have not done the positive thinking and self esteem courses they are very necessary introductions to the deepest study of all studies, their aim is to smooth each students path. In going deeper many different states of mind are encountered. Faith in drama is invaluable here. It is no wonder that the mainly uncreative and spiritually blind psychiatric minds get stumped when faced with situations that they do not understand. There is no state of mind that cannot be improved through proper instruction and effort provided that the sufferer can communicate. The person who can see our potential has received no training whatsoever, he just knows!
People do leave Gyan, This it is as much a reflection of the current methods of teaching as it is of the ways of learning. Whilst there are radical elements here, they are necessary and play a vital part; the love compassion and resources of this site are vital work. The BKs also oppose and bless. Wisdom is learnt in the field of experience.
