Warning: Muggers in Mount Abu

Post21 Oct 2008

With the new 2008 BapDada season now in full swing, all prospective Brahma Kumari followers thinking of traveling to Madhub are being strictly warned to protect themselves again dangerous 'muggers' on Mount Abu, the famous Rajasthan retreat, by Mr Trevor Tank, a concerned local nature conservationist.

Ruthless 'muggers' have been discovered lurking in quiet places in Mount Abu for a number of years not, and preying on unsuspecting foreigners. Some have lost their lives, and many families have lost their loved ones. It has taken others years and years to recover from the losses they suffered at their hands.

Visitors are recommended to keep together in groups, not to go off on their own to strange places, above all avoid intoxication ... and to keep their wallets in their pockets, not signing any 'Last Will and Testaments' in favour of seemingly 'trust'-worthy strangers.

No one is sure how these ruthless, cold-blooded lizards found their way up to the top of Mount Abu or made their home there. However, their lifestyle has been thriving on the easy pickings from the many naive visitors who make their way up the hill each year. Many suspect the muggers were brought by a rich owner who, on discovering that they grew too much, were troublesome to handle, that he could no longer control them any more or perhaps simply by dying, let them loose into the wilds ... to survive in the only way they knew.

Generous conditions and a lack of any natural predators have meant that they have expanded greatly in numbers. Some of them growing to be h-u-g-e.

On the left, a Mount Abu Mugger*; on the right, a cold-blooded lizard.

* (a "mugger" aka marsh crocodile - file under XXX-BK joke.).

Indeed, I wish I could write this in huge fonts for the whole world to know: BE ALERT OF THESE MUGGERS! They seize and drag their preys into their waters where they drown and devour them at leisure.

Another good psychological trick (I wonder what it might be called!)! The BKWSO diverts students' attention from their organization - that's the big mugger - by calling everything and everybody else Maya, the temptation, the alligator, we have to watch out for and that constantly tries to rip and strip us off! Look who's talking!!! :D

Indeed, it is all true my fellow travelers. And have we not all seen those crocodiles tears, the fake emotions used in order to lure their prey? Silent and deadly, these fearsome predators lurks in the still waters of our nightmares, our dark unconscious. Most of the time, they appear utterly lethargic, yet they can rouse themselves almost instantly and attack.

They lie. Mostly in wait. At the edge of land and water. That is between reality and unreality. Near invisible until their prey wanders close enough, they strike with incredible swiftness and bank balance crushing jaws of strength, their teeth suited to grabbing and holding. They will then spin new followers beneath the waters of consciousness, drowning and dismembering them from their families.

The females are the most dangerous, feared for their destructive power, and will guard their nests vigilantly. Their young, born as eggs, gather together in pods which the matas lurk around at all times, ready to respond to their chirps of danger swiftly and drastically, for as much as two years after taking the course. However, they have also been known to crush their own children!

Their eyes can peer above, giving them the power to see above others emotions but ultimately, they are absolutely cold-blooded.

My advice ... and all together now ...

Never smile at a crocodile.
No, you cannot get friendly with a crocodile.
Don't be taken in by his welcome grin.
He's imagining how well you'd fit within his skin.
Never smile at a crocodile.
Never dip your hat and stop to talk awhile.
Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day.
Clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocodile.

You may very well be well bred (VIP).
Lot's of etiquette in your head (royalty).
But there's always some special case, time or place. To forget etiquette.
For instance: Never smile at a crocodile.
No, you cannot get friendly with a crocodile.
Don't be taken in by his welcome grin.
He's imagining how well you'd fit within his skin.
Never smile at a crocodile.

Ha ha! Good point paul, thank you. These both are adjectives suitable for them.

Muggle means in lexicon Babylon: "one who possesses no magical powers" (from the novels of J.K. Rowling).
