The Avinashi Social Club
Robin Ramsay -- Actor (from Wikipedia)

Robin Ramsay (born 31 May 1937 in Melbourne) is an Australian television, film and stage actor. He is the grandson of Kiwi shoe polish founder William Ramsay and Father of Robina Ramsay, an internationally ranked dressage rider and Dr Tamasin Ramsay.

Ramsay became interested in Eastern spiritual matters in the 1960s and studied Taoism and Buddhism and many of the mystical poets such as Rumi, Tagore and Hafiz. During the 1980s, he came across the teachings of Brother Lekhraj Kripalani, now formalised as the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, while still performing with Open Secret. From 2001–2006 he lived at a Brahma Kumaris retreat centre near Wilton New South Wales. Ramsay recreated his Tagore show Borderland in London, as part of the Brahma Kumaris contribution to the Lord Mayor of London's "India Now" celebrations. His most recent film, The Avinashi Social Club, presents the recently discovered history of the Brahma Kumaris in Karachi (1937–1950). The film, drawn from articles and books discovered in the British Library, contradicts much of the story that has been presented officially by Brahma Kumaris administration.

Information adjoining the film (from Mr. Ramsay) :
Here it is at last friends...a story of the Brahma Kumaris and their glory days in karachi 1937-50 : years of turmoil and mystery. it's a film banned by BK Admin until recently, still called 'defamatory' , and rarely screened for the faithful. nonetheless, its full of wonderful tales from its leaders, as well as foundation beliefs of the time, all drawn from the BK's own publications, many recently rediscovered in the british library.

Interesting is the backdated interview with Om Radhe, which has a summit at the 59 th min. Interesting is also the, in my view offensive, defamatory language used against Mahatma Gandhi and the BK attempts to contact the royal family via Gyan.
