Practical access to the Dadis and Seniors

Post14 Mar 2007

Good thread. A.A. Practical advice applicable for all societies and not just in the UK (and US ?).

Slightly aside : "How easy has it been for you to contact or get access the Seniors or Dadis ? (Could be a new thread).

This is an interesting case. I know of senior BKs who do not wish to use or own mobiles. Whether this is out of attachment, to have own personal space and time, or ignorance of technology, or ignorance of people calling them, remains open. However although mobile phones can be expensive, but given the finances of the BKWSU and the ever increasing spread of mobiles with slightly cheaper access (as with PCs), would surely feel SS and Dadis have them to be on the ready. How many folks have had or still have trouble trying to get hold of their Seniors when they feel the need for private or personal assistance ?

Of course, it is free to receive a call. So no problem there. And how many simple "last year's model" telephones are thrown away. It would be no problem to kit out the entire Yagya.

Where the problem might lie, and this is certainly meat for another topic of its own, is how much does the BKWSU leadership encourage dependency within its followers? Often dependency to the point of idiocy based on fear and insecurity, and the desire to follow all the unknown Shrimats. And as the BKs have no direct access to God, nor allow such access to the channelled spirit BapDada, this means the Shrimat of the SS. This relates to alcoholism, Al-Anon and addiction as they are all related to issues of dependency and inter-personal manipulation.

In BK Raja Yoga, there are powerful chemical reactions going in the body/brain of individuals, especially newcomers that NO ONE has stopped to ask or question. Is that high or infatuation we are experiencing in the Honeymoon Period being felt in the soul or the body? I remember most distinctly it being or having bodily reactions. Are those not drugs and drugs of addiction?

I do not how much this goes on these days but as a young BK I was encouraged to give over control of my brain to the senior Sisters by a center-in-charge that had given over her's! Such are the problems that they cause in families and life and such is the willingness to become involved in others - with a Godly mission - I would guess that they would never have any peace at all.

I think I would file this one along with the most stable mind in the world, Janki Kripalani, "not learning English" despite 30 years international control of the Western English speaking service zone. Its the "art of being available but not available", closely allied to the "art of being responsible without any responsibilities".

No access and not confidential

Post15 Mar 2007

As a principle. I agree that access to SS should be easy equally for all. However, dependency is so dangerous!

I knew one Center Sister that used to call the SS all the time to get instructions/permissions about useless trivial things. On the other end, I noticed how SS get monopolized by center niwassis when visiting and usually there is little or no time left for students to meet the SS privately. To this, add the factor translation, which means that if a soul doesn't speak Hindi or engl, he wlill have to go through the sister-in-charge to communicate with SS, so how can he speak freely?

Let me also take the opportunity to warn everybody - unless you already are aware of it - that cases have been reported of SS showing mails they received from students, to the center in charge. So, think twice before writing, complaining, etc., as all information which you may think will be kept confidential are likely to be divulgated to the person who has power over you in your local center. SS don't usually stand for or protect victims of any abuse. Ask around the Forum and get more evidence of this, if you haven't noticed it yet! Be ready for retaliation.

Sudeshbhen learnt how to speak German quickly, another good point for that Sister!

But here in India almost every sister-in-charge of BK centers located in big and medium cities possess mobile phones and with most BK students also possessing mobiles, it proves cheaper from the Yagya point of view. Just a missed call and the student may call back.

I heard that most BK teachers have the mobile connections of 'Reliance', with which the BKs appear to have entered into some kind of an understanding for rent free phones, given the huge network of BK centers that they have in India.
