Meditation retreats

Post01 Aug 2007

Can anyone recommend any meditation retreats which are not expensive and commercialised in the UK?

I am feeling the need to get out of the city and into some beautiful countryside to get blissed out :D

Its not meditation per se, although you might find a place that also offers it, but have you looked at the WWOOF system? (UK is here).

You swop a few hours karma Yoga a day for bed and board and have plenty of free time. I am sure there are online retreat guides. Many Christian monsteries will take sincere "quietists" for little or nothing.

Ah, yes. Somebody I used to work with uppedsticks, got a campervan and went to one of these places. I shall look into it more.
Wwoof = World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms.
