NLP plus spiritual states

Post22 Aug 2007

There are several NLP techniques which talk about drawing a circle and walking into it while being anchored into a state. I cant find the exact one I am thinking about, but these are a couple of similar examples I found online:

I was recently thinking how different parts of the brain create different states of experience, especially pondering on the lymphatic brain as being the wild animal part of the human being and it being the source of all human urges and instincts. No doubt the nervous system plays a part as well.

Then I began to ponder on how some of the older spiritualities and religions interpreted our latest discoveries and theories in understanding the brain and its relationship to consciousness. Perhaps spiritualities such as Kabbalah were a group of people's understanding of this. Perhaps all the different Angels and other abstract details of it are but archetypes. So I did a little research.

I got to reading Genesis http://bible.ort.org/books/torahd5.asp

and it does imply that from a wild animal, humans then developed consciousness. They ate from The Tree of good and evil. Then to live for ever they need to eat from The Tree of life. In the Kabbalah, The Tree of life consists of many Sephiroth and paths between them.

Now some of these people spent all their time, 24/7, trying to understand human consciousness. To really understand consciousness one doesn’t need fancy instruments, but a lot of patience, introspection and open-mindedness. Perhaps what they saw as the different states associated with the Sephiroth are really the main states accessible by different parts of the brain.

After doing some analysis what I discovered, IMHO, is that the path from Sephiroth Keter to the Sephiroth Malkuth (10 steps or more) does create an amazing sequence in which if used as the states in the an NLP circle technique is very, very liberating, transformative, creative and powerful (not to mention enlightening).

Of course, in regards to it being the perfect model of states on how to perfect consciousness and its role in physical reality I have my doubts, but I do find it fantastic and amazing. I tried using the model of the chakras with an NLP circle technique, but it seemed less comprehensive. Perhaps others would disagree with me.

Another interesting twist is to superimpose the model of the Anatomy of the Soul (from Raja Yoga) onto the technique mentioned above. Anyone have other ideas for models that can be used in this exercise?
