Brahma Kumaris get stoned

Post27 Sep 2009

The Times of India wrote:Get ready for display of steady devotion

CHANDIGARH: Playing god can be a tall order for any human being. That is the truth of life, which Brahma Kumaris, who model as Chaitanya Devis (living goddesses), often have to face. Their way of meditation involves posing as idols of goddesses in such a manner that onlookers are often confused whether they are statues or women.

Such doubts and debates are likely to resurface during an event from October 2 to 6 at the Sector-34 ground here, where the ‘idols’ will make an appearance. They will be meditating using this technique from 7 to 9pm on the said days. Sources said some times, people were seen betting regarding the ‘statues’ being real or fake. That happened at such an event in Delhi.

They added when the Chaitanya Devis were in Amritsar recently, some people had crossed the line of civility and pelted stones to check if they would move out of fear.

That could be because the ‘idols’ do not blink during the time they are posing even if there is commotion all around, Brahma Kumari Rajyog teacher Sister Sapna told Times of India on Friday. Keeping in mind the threat these Brahma Kumaris face, organizers have sought police’s help to protect them when they meditate in public view. The event will also have a spiritual clinic, where people can seek counselling for dealing with problems like crises in relationships, stress, personality issues, negative thinking, bad communication skills, lack of attractiveness, motivation, confidence, self-esteem, concentration and values.

Sister Sapna said organizations like Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Central Reserve Police Force and National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development had been taking Brahma Kumaris’ help for holistic development of their personnel.

Their help has been sought in the corporate world also for providing know-how regarding stress and relationship management. “Pure applied spirituality helps in such cases. Rajyog teaches you to utilize spiritual knowledge in your day-to-day life,” she said. This technique is also used in dealing with chronic diseases.

BKWSU confusing onlookers ... what's new? Well, you know what they say ...

The BKs will probably just say that it must be a sign of the End of World, the rise of Anti-Party and exaggerate it as part of their persecution myth to garner sympathy. What was it ... a teenager chucking a pebble for a joke with his friends?

    Everybody must get stoned.
There are pictures of these BKs acting as "Living Deities" on the forum somewhere else. Frankly, it is pretty ridiculous, like something out of some Victorian Era ... richly dressed BKs as Durga, Laksmi, Saraswati etc.
