Buddhas'R'us ... the 15 year old Nepalese Ram Bahadur Bomjan, aka Palden Dorje or the 'Buddha Boy', went into 6 years of meditation during which many miracles have been claimed and for much of the time he is said not to have eaten or drunk.
There was a Discovery Channel documentary attempting to make a story out of what is basically someone sitting doing nothing. I found it to be too full of faux seriousness and obvious construction that it made me cringe. However, a few good and interesting things arise out of it, in particular the scene of a 'meditation duel' with a senior teacher which the teacher refuses to explain ... Palden Dorje is being hailed as a Boddhisattva. Many videos and website discuss him.
In one instance, he was witnessed by over 50 people to burst into spontaneous flames which burnt off the robes he was wearing but left him with no scars. It is mentioned in the documentary but here it is.
