Kumbha Mela - nice documentary

Post20 Jan 2007

You'll like this ...

I KNOW you don't do this anymore, its forbidden by Baba, but it is that time of year for many.

Anyway, for the uninitiated non Indian (like me), here's a few pics of the event : Kumbha Mela Video

The narrative is not that rewarding but the pics are fun. Looks like a huge rave party :P.

Now you don't have to go to the Kumbha Mela, the Kumbha Mela can come into your living room. Watch out for that kid with those swords.

Omshanti. When there is living ocean of knowledge in the world of us Brahmins, there are living rivers of knowledge, living Ganges of knowledge (chaitanya gyaan Ganga) also and some of us Brahmins enjoy bathing in the rivers of knowledge instead of bathing in the ocean of knowledge. :D :P

So that way, various classes of Dadis and senior BK Sisters published by the BKs and some of which have even been reproduced 'as it is' on this forum could be considered as the rivers of knowledge, is it not? :?:

But why bathe in the rivers of knowledge, when the ocean of knowledge is present Himself to cleanse us?????? :D

In one Avyakt Vani BapDada has said that the rivers which do not have connection with the ocean are like drains (naalah). I will try to quote the exact line. If we consider the BK theory of ShivBaba coming in Gulzar Dadi to be true then how do the rivers of knowledge have connection with the ocean of knowledge when BapDada does not come in Gulzar Dadi????

Well, don't say that their intellect is directly connected with the Father, because Baba has said that nothing is possible through inspiration.

In one Avyakt Vani BapDada has said that the rivers which do not have connection with the ocean are like drains (naalah). I will try to quote the exact line.

“Nadiyaon ka mahatwa tab hai jab saagar say sambandh hai, agar saagar say sambandh nahi toh nadee bhi nala ban jati. Toh aap chaitanya gyaan nadiyon ka hi gaayan hai patit paavani, isee seva may sadaa busy raho.” (Avyakt Vani taareekh- 16.1.79)

"The importance of rivers is only when they have a connection with the ocean; if it does not have a connection with the ocean, then the river also becomes a drain. So, ‘purifier of the sinful ones’ is the glory of you living rivers of knowledge only. Always remain busy in this service only." – (Avyakt Vani dated 16.1.79, published by the BKs and narrated through BK Gulzar Dadiji, translation by PBKs)

I am also reproducing below an article on Kumbh Mela approved by ShivBaba (through Baba Virendra Dev Dixit) for being published in newspapers/magazines some time ago:

KUMBH FAIR

India is a country of religious festivals and fairs. Normally some or the other festival is celebrated almost everyday, but some celebrations are on such a large scale, for which preparations have to be made many months in advance and one such celebration is the fair of Kumbh or Kumbh Mela. It is famous in the Puranas that among all the things that emerged as a result of the churning of the ocean by the deities and demons, the last thing to emerge was a pot of nectar (Amrit Kumbh). When a dispute arose between both the parties on this pot, then Jayant, son of Indra ran away with this pot. Then a fierce battle ensued between both the parties for 12 days, in which the Sun, the Moon and the Brihaspati (the Jupiter) sided with Jayant and in this war some drops of the nectar fell on Earth at Prayag, Nasik, Haridwar and Ujjain. That is why the Kumbh fairs are organized at these places after every 12 years. Crores of devotees gather at these fairs for the so-called holy bath.

Actually, these mythological stories of the path of worship (Bhaktimarg) are reminders of the incidents that take place in the Human World Cycle consisting of four ages, at the confluence of the Iron Age and the Golden Age, i.e. in the Purushottam Sangamyug (elevated Confluence Age). In this Confluence Age, all the human souls meet the Supreme Father Supreme Soul Shiv. All the souls become pure by taking bath in the Ganges of knowledge that flows from the intellect-like hair locks of Shiv-Shankar, in remembrance of which the Indians take bath in the rivers of India that are considered to be pure in the path of worship that begins from the Copper Age and feel that their sins get washed away in them. Actually, God says that bathing in the water of these rivers cleans only the body. But the purification of the soul takes place only through the true knowledge, remembrance of God and through the inculcation of divine virtues. The body consciousness-like dirt gets washed away in this Ganges of pure knowledge.

In India, not only the river Ganges, but also the other rivers are considered to be purifying in nature. In fact, this is also a reminder of the Confluence Age only. In the present Confluence Age, many souls become pure by listening to The Knowledge directly from the Supreme Father Supreme Soul and then inculcating it and many souls become number wise pure by obtaining knowledge from the souls that receive knowledge from the Supreme Soul. Therefore, the souls which do the service of purifying others by obtaining knowledge from the Supreme Soul are called the living rivers of knowledge, but only those living rivers of knowledge are purifying in nature, which are connected with the Ocean of knowledge, i.e. the Supreme Father Supreme Soul. Such rivers take the dirt of impure vision and vibrations that falls in them and merge in the ocean. But such living lakes and ponds of knowledge which do not have any direct connection with the Supreme Soul are not purifying in nature. Instead, while collecting the dirt of vices of all the sinful human beings, one day they dry up and lose their existence.

This fair (or meeting) of the Supreme Soul and the souls which is going on in the elevated Confluence Age takes place only once in 5000 years. In reality, the Sun and the Moon that have been mentioned in the mythological story described above are also not gross planets or stars but the living human souls, in whose chariot-like body the Supreme Father Supreme Soul enters and initially plays the cool affectionate role of Moon (Brahma) and later on He plays the role of the Sun (Prajapita) who destroys the vicious souls through the strong light of true knowledge. That is why in the path of worship there is a praise, ‘Twamev mata cha pita twamev’ (you are the mother as well as the Father) or ‘karankaraavanhaar’ (doer and enabler). So, just think who is the purifier of the sinful ones? Is it the gross rivers of water or the true knowledge given by the Supreme Father Supreme Soul and the living Ganges of knowledge which become pure through that knowledge and make others pure? Omshanti.
