How to link to another forum post or article

Post30 May 2008

To link to another forum post there are a number of ways, each more specific.

Look at the address bar of your browser. This will provide the URL (address) of the topic or topic page. Copy and paste this into your posts. It will look something like this;
Code: Select all
http://www.brahmakumaris.info/forum/posting.php?mode=post&f=13

For a more specific URL, use the search function at the top of the page with a specific word or term. This will give a list of post. Find the one you want and 'right-click' your mouse, or 'ctrl-click' on the title of the post to copy the URL of the post with the search term highlighted.

Then paste into you post to show the entire address, as above.

This is usually messy, So otherwise, past into a [URL] tag as below and adding an equal sign and a title. In this case, only the title will show as a link. Click on the [website=] or URL button above the posting box, (use 'ctrl-w'), to make two tags automatically;
Code: Select all
[url][/url]

Code: Select all
From the topic [url=http://www.brahmakumaris.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1651&p=23760&hilit=film#p23760]BKWSU plans new film about early days of Om Mandli[/url] we see ...

or
[Website=http://www.brahmakumaris.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1651&p=23760&hilit=film#p23760]Title here[/Website]

This will give something like this;

"From the topic BKWSU plans new film about early days of Om Mandli we see ..."

Use the preview button to see how it looks before submitting.
