Legal bid to expose Sonia Gandhi's faith rejected
BBC, November 29, 2010

Haryana, India - A court in India's northern Punjab and Haryana state has dismissed a petition seeking details of Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi's religious beliefs. The court said the religion of an individual was "entirely personal". A former Haryana police officer had filed a petition under the Right to Information Act seeking the details from the Census office. Hindu hardline opposition parties have often raised questions about Italian-born Sonia Gandhi's faith. They have questioned Mrs Gandhi's right to rule a country where a vast majority of the population is Hindu.

Mrs Gandhi was born a Roman Catholic. Her husband, late Rajiv Gandhi, had mixed parentage.

His Father was a Parsi while his mother, former prime minister Indira Gandhi, was a Hindu.

Sonia Gandhi, or at least her late husband's family, is from a different family than Mahatma Gandhi but, being rich, powerful and famous, she is a regular target of the Brahma Kumaris. See, here, as usual.

The Rakhi ceremony the Brahma Kumaris do has nothing to do with Hindu tradition. It is just a rip off, as usual. It is either just PR, or if you believe in the other theory, a kind of occult practise they do on people to get close to them and bind them to the spirit of the BKWSU.

For such a corrupt country, India's judiciary usually has a good reputation and it is also gratifying to see how secular and principled real India is. It is not all tied up with spooks, spirits, mythology and bogus religion. A lot of it is very modern and future thinking.
