Choose to be Calm ... another BK front

Post26 Oct 2012

Choose to be Calm* ... another BK front or PR marketing campaign, what they call "serving humanity" because this is about as generous as it gets for them (you give them money, they give you minutes of doing nothing. Or in this case, it is down to seconds ... their target is: 22,795,306 seconds (the same as the population of Australia).

The BKs do their usual thing of hiding or burying their own name behind it, e.g ...
"This session is co-convened by Calm in the City and The Creative Performance Exchange with support from Hub Melbourne and Deloitte Australia."

And use respectable (presumably) non-BKs as a frontspeople who knows little about what the religion is really about, in this case Pete Williams, the CEO at Deloitte Digital, and a well known personal growth author, Stephanie Dowrick. The PR campaign was launched at business premises, presumably continuing on their targeting of corporate types.

Funny, they say its inspiration was "a project introduced in Argentina in 2010" ... but surely it is just a re-reun of their successful "Million Minutes of Peace" PR campaign of the 1980s (which also started in Australia)? Samo-samo but swopping seconds for minutes just so they can use a bigger number and, as you know, for the BKs bigger numbers are better!!! It's Global, Unlimited time again, folks.

22,795,306 seconds is 379,922 minutes is 6332 hours is 264 days of doing nothing. Not an awful lot is it, really?

Couldn't they do 264 days of doing something to help others *whilst* being peaceful, e.g. providing clean water and sanitation, feed starving children or challenging the human trafficking of young girls in India?

Oh, I am sorry. I forgot. BKs don't do charity. They only do Unlimited Charity™, aka doing nothing, because it's the "impure, degraded souls" own fault that they are suffering and helping them only creates bad karmic bonds with them and holds BKs back. Yes, for sure ...
