What the world needs is a "love child" of Noam Chomsky and Jane Goodall. Or at least the animal world.
In Surya's case, his relationship with the BK community must have been for more than 40 years. Others on that list are into their 20 and 30 years as a BK. That's a long time. One is doubly bound as their parents are also BK-ish (albeit, that could be a mixed blessing), the BKs being uniquely credited with holding their family together.
Recently, we've been discussing Denise and watching her videos doing what is very much still "entry level" BK evangelism, albeit with a meal ticket in Madhuban. I wonder what position and status Surya, Herman and others have found for themselves?
They also mention centres are empty and closing, people are not coming for class but just staying at home. I have no idea what the current statistics are, they are not the sort of the things the BKs openly publish. It may be that the BK is leaving them, rather than they leaving the BKs ... as in, who and what is left if everyone else just stops turning up and new blood is not joining.
What then?
I suppose with centres closing, and the original Western BKs both acquiring their family's property and wealth through deaths and not having dependents of their own, will mean even more transfers of properties and wealth to the Kirpalani Klan, allowing them to centralise their real estate holdings in larger metropolitans, or perhaps upmarket resort-retreats, and mainting their social climbing and socialising VIP.
Therefore, for me, I'd put my money not so much on their leaving but working out their own very practical survival strategies for their retirement, expecting or demanding recompensation from the Kirpalani Klan.
I think something else might have developed and that is Westerners "serving" the BKWSU, by which I mean sticking with it and sticking it out not to do what the BKs would have them - to spread the word about Destruction and coming of "Trimurti God Shiva" etc - but to try and enlighten the greater BK community with their vegan, organic, new agey, more enlightened political inputs.
Whether that is a worth or even worthwhile activity or not is open to discussion. Afterall, it is what we are partly doing here.
