Well, a girl who has been abused for long will fall in love with anyone who is finally nice to them, a simple thing as "you are special" can do the trick.

One of the rather sharp observations I picked up from the movie was the comment from the "9 year old" girl calling herself "one of the older girls".

It said quite a lot really ... and into that, one has to filter out what sort of memories the impressionable young girls who are/were now old senior Sisters. How much did they really understand what was going on etc. For example, how and why Lekhraj Kirpalani used Om Radhe as a front and wrote in her name and why he invested in the trust run by his wife and other relatives ... to protect himself and his wealth from being sued of course. If he lost, he would have to give it away.

The old senior Sisters do not tell the whole truth about the nature of all the psychic phenomena.

BK Charlie being as toothless and impotent as ever then?

Give the nature of the BK gossip grapevine, do they really think they can stop it getting out? No chance. So they are just trying to ensure the naive and obedient ones stay "pure" and do not have their minds challenged.

I notice that there is a new address given for The Avinashi Social Club. It has been slightly re edited I think. The old film music is still on it though, which is pleasing. The address is http://vimeo.com/26100285

I read this message on a BK website today:
"Hullo everyone. Just to mention that for a week or so, The Avinashi Social Club will not be available for viewing online. On wise advice, it seems there could be aggravation directed to the BK's in India, because of specific references to a specific individual in the film. So judicious edits will be made before it is returned to vimeo. This is a precautionary decision made by the film's director, who, with numerous others, is keen to bring The Colourful, The Actual, The Richly Astonishing BK/ God story into the Light."

The Avenashi Social Club is back on line already I see at vimeo.com/26821419. It will be interesting to see the latest edited version which I have not as yet.

Robin sent me a link to this movie, but knowing the pro-BK stance of Robin, Tamasin and the NSW trendy/yuppie/almost-BK's set, I haven't bothered with it. Now I may have a look at it. The dichotomy that all these almost-BK's seem to be able to hold in their minds is that (a) Baba/Brahma/Shiva/knowledge is all good/true/pure and (b) it's these nasty Sisters and Dadis that have twisted everything around, set up all these systems, created all the problems etc. You know, the ones in Madhuban who'd go pestering Atam Prakash, etc, or even learn Hindi themselves so they could get a "true" translation of the Murli, because they did not trust Sheilu Bhen to do the job honestly and accurately. Don't get me wrong - they are all great people and have managed to carve themselves some sort of sustainable life sitting on this knife-edge, but the mental gymnastics involved with doing that makes splitting the atom as easy as "pulling a hair through butter".
