Shrimat versus Maryadas

Shrimat=BE SOUL CONSCIOUS AND REMEMBER ME, AS A SOUL.
Maryadas=THE PHYSICAL DISCIPLINES OF Raja Yoga/BK LIFE STYLE.
If you are thinking of, doing so, or have done so,while approaching the subject of Raja Yoga in a practical way, it may help to keep these two things as individual entities. These two things appear to have become joined at the hip or, merged under the banner of "Shrimat". At no point in this post am I challenging the physical/practical disciplines.

The first and last lesson in Raja Yoga is, who am I? Being soul conscious and remembering, relating to God as an eternal point of consciousness is all we need, or rather, the contents within that meeting in terms of FEELINGS. And so, it is all Shiva/God has said and says. Everything else orbits around these CONSTANTS of be soul conscious and remember me. This is 100% universal spirituality with no culture, gender etc involved in this essence teaching.

Knowledge is to be churned, milk ends up as something else when churned. From grass to butter. We start with grass when chewing the cud,and end up with digestable liquid, which is of completely different constitution,of the same original substance. Have you churned? Has your awareness of knowledge changed from that which was initially given? Has it turned into something else? Some may even have a big lump of something stuck in their throat which, if swallowed, will not digest anyway?

The Marayadas were developed largely by Mama, a Senior Sister. The confusion may be coming from souls who's emphasis is on the physical disciplines and not on God's basic UNIVERSAL spiritual teaching(be Soul conscious and remember me).

As a result, we have the mass Brahmin consciousness going around bleating Shrimat at everything. It is difficult to change these mass cons. things once they have started. Indeed, it is verging on creating your own religion within what is a path of self change/transformation, but it is the wrong kind of change.

We cannot demand fulfilling relationship with the sweet one (why on earth not, it IS our Father, teacher, companion etc.) and so there may even be a tendency for some to have Yoga/connection with Seniors. This is not part of the teachings, it is a self created religion outwith BK teachings. It is ignorance even, pushing God aside, leaving the one out who is to be revealed. Yes, Shiva, the most beautiful being in the universe, so beautiful, it shouldn't be allowed, is being left out in the cold, while some may be stepping in front to fulfil ego driven desires. We need to bring THE ONE into the world, not shut "the one" out. Simply going around wearing the name Baba out is not the same as bringing that one into play.

The aim of Brahmin life is not to become a good BK (not to be taken too literal). The aim and object is to become angelic, then deity, eventually, in future lives. Perhaps misconceptions can emerge, when the true aim and object is diluted or, adulterated (to add to).

At the same time, churning is part of the teachings, where we find new things and erm, add to....

Hi Sparkal,

Nice to see you enlivening this corner of our forum.

It would help our discussion of Maryadas (ongoing since ex-BK Chat) to have a copy of the official Maryadas in English (printed in a large blue font, Souvenir IIRC, on beige paper) as posted in view in Madhuban and most centers.

Would someone who has seen or copied this list mind typing it in for the rest of us?

It certainly would have nostalgia/reflection value to myself, having followed them so diligently over a long period of time.

Amazing, tho, that I never heard the story that they were created by Mama. Very little was said about her. Only once I recall during Double Foreigner season Dadi Kumarka ordering that Mama's Murli be read... it must have been a separate class, since I don't recall Dadi K reading Mama's words.

About the most I knew about Mama was from the Tower of Peace brochure , which had lovely torn-paper artwork. I never tired of reading/looking at it.

Actually, we occasionally had a class from Manmohini Dadi or others about Mama, but I guess they did not leave a strong impression. Mama was mythical, whereas Baba seemed more accessible. I did have dreams about both of them, tho, with Mama as a kind of Dharam raj, after loving acceptance by Baba.

I think the best Maryadas should be extracted from the Murlis, wouldn't they? It is true that too much worshipping is going on and to say for example that this one or this one has a powerful drishti is not undertanding the role of the Father. Also after reading the Murlis, why is there a class on what the senior thinks one little point of the Murli and why is a thorough study of the Murli not done. This is the beauty of Mama's classes, who I have the impression gave an in depth and clear explanation of Godly knowledge and nothing else, and especially not what she thought about life and wisdom etc.

Well, that is the point, the marayadas do not come from the Murlis. The Knowledge from the Murli's comes from beyond, into this realm, while the marayadas were developed by us in this realm, with the purpose of helping us to go beyond. The Murli directions are the Godly directions in comparison to the Maryadas.

The Murli tells us not to remember souls such as Mama etc ., or any bodily being, which will surely including Seniors , Remember one Shiv Baba, is Shrimat.

Greetings all. I am brand new to the forum. I am delighted to have found this website.

Well said Sparkal !! Our aim is to consider ourselves a soul, and to remember Him alone. I couldn't agree with you more.

Please allow me to share something with all of you. It is an audio/visual animated meditation I created, (under the influence of God,) - on 'Who Is God?' AKA 'The Supreme'. It comes from a very old BK poem but has been modified to be the essenceful seeds of Gyan. It is about 4 minutes long.
