What is Worthing Worth?

In 2004, the BKWSU England bought The Lighthouse property at 98/99 Marine Parade, Worthing East Sussex for approximately $1,800,000. With repairs and restoration in order to make it a retreat centre, the final is - even taking into consideration volunteer labour - likely to be well over £1 Million Sterling.

This raises the question; hardly known as a hotbed of spiritual activity or Hindu religion, just exactly what is Worthing worth to the BKWSU? One of the charity’s objectives, as registered at the Charity Commission, is “alleviating poverty”. Presumably someone else rather than its own. One has to ask, could a cool Million or two not gone a little bit further if put to just that purpose in their spiritual home - the Indian sub-continent - where 34% of individuals live on less than $1 a day, 50% of children, numbering 500 Million, suffer from malnutrition?
The Lighthouse is a commonly used metaphor within BKWSU teaching. Powerful BK Raja Yogis are known as “lighthouses” for the humanity. The “lighthouse stage” is thought to be a high degree of consciousness attained after performing BK Raja Yoga for many years. One would have to guess that the attraction here was the name of the property.

The BKWSU teach that after the forthcoming World destruction, each Raja Yoga centre will become an island in the Golden Age for them to visit. This despite all other continents except for India sinking below the oceans. So at least non-BK Worthing residents can be assured that their property values are not going to be affected by the holocaust!

Having amassed over $28,000,000 in just over 30 years and with over $2,000,000 worth of donations coming in each year “to promote Hinduism” and “alleviate poverty”, as it says on the charity documents, the British wing of the BKWSU are currenting looking for a property to buy in London’s West End. One of the World’s most expensive real estate location.

But with the End of the World so close, one wonders why the trustees of this charity are tying up so much of their wealth in property freeholds?

The English charity also pays itself approximately $40,000 to manage its own publicity wing, Brahma Kumaris Information Service ltd. of which 3 trustees are directors.

Should we not concentrate on doing service with the intellect, mind, body and wealth that we been undergoing self-transformation thus world-transformation. Face it, the reality, the facilities that we have, we have to spend time taking care of it, after all it is for service anyway. Let’s say to spend $1 for each one for the world in general, what do we have. Charity begins at home first. Be mindful , many of us who comes to Baba are poor! and innocent. Talk about this is ‘the time for settlement of karmic accounts’!! Still yearning the self to save for a ticket for second trip to Madhuban.

Om Shanti.

Over recent years I have seen the development of Worthing and marvelled at the fact that the Charity Commission haven't pinned the BKs up against the wall. The thousands spent on refurbishment, plus all the skills and free labour that Brothers have given, doesn't equate to "tackling poverty or developing the understanding of Hinduism in Worthing". There are some truly genuine souls doing all the donkey work there, but for whom? Cosy "retreats" for chosen BKs, and no doubt hospitality for the odd VIP who may be good for a few thousand or so.

Why, if Destruction is just around the corner, invest in expensive properties at Worthing which will be washed into the sea? There is only one conclusion - that "Destruction" talk is an absolute load of rubish and "construction of property portfolios" is really what all this is about.

Pity the more genuine Seniors, who are intelligent and have to carry this awful knowledge of what really goes on within the organisation. How trapped they must feel. No wonder many have trouble sleeping! With no money (surrendered), no experience in the world of work, and often no "family" outside the BKWSU, what options do they have of escape and a normal life?

Their options may be somewhat limited but they will still have more choices than the poor in India. So, yes, I believe there is a God (but certainly not channelled by Dadi Gulzar - we all know that is Brahma Baba still hanging on in there) and angelic forces in the Universe.

Support is there, however, you must truly want it and accept that you are caught within the web of a true cult. You can recover but first you must not continue turning a blind eye to all the lies and incredibly bad behaviour within this organisation. Take the good bits and spew out the rest and get a life!

Om Shanti and God Bless
