Re: Dadi Janki operation

Post04 Aug 2008

God bless Dadi Janaki for undergoing an operation and having good health for our sakes. I am delighted by Dadi Janaki's dedication and service. She is a genius Sister and true embodiment of BB words.

Do you really believe that she did it for your sakes and that she would personally prefer to be sick or ill? Surely not. An interesting projection.

I disagree on the embodiment front, I am sure that Lekhraj Kirpalani would have taken seriously any wrongdoings very seriously and would have courteously replied to letters quickly.

Its difficult to feel good criticising a 90 year old woman but, like anyone else, I found she was always fine within her worship worthy comfort zone but as soon as one or drama took her out of it, she could get difficult and unpleasant. There was a recent Murli point saying that King Janak only made it to the Silver Age, do you think that refers to her?

Quoted from the BK section:
313.
“Toh jitnaa tum Yoga may rahengey utnaa shuddh bantey jaayengey. Baba yah sab aapkaa hai. Ham toh trustee hain. Aapke hukma bigar ham kuchch nahee karengey. Shareeer nirvaah kaisey karnaa hai, vah bhi mat leni hai. Aksar karke gareeb hee poora potamail detey hain. Saahookaar dey na sakein. Surrender ho nahee saktey. Koi virlaa nikaltaa hai. Jaisey ki Janak ka naam hai. Baal bachchey hain, joint property hai toh alag kaisey hon. Saahookaar log property nikaalein kaisey jo surrender hon. Baap hai hee gareebniwaaz. Sabsey gareeb maataaen hain, unsay bhi jaasti kanyaaen gareeb hain. Kanya ko kabhi varsey ka nashaa nahee hoga. Bachchey ko Baap kee jaageer ka nashaa rahtaa hai. Toh vah sab chod fir Vaikunth ka varsa lena padey." (Brahmakumariyon dwara prakaashit revised Sakar Murli, dinaank 14.04.08, pg 3)

“So, the more you have Yoga, the more you will go on becoming pure. Baba all this belongs to you. We are trustees. We will not do anything without your order. One should also obtain the directions as to how should one earn one’s livelihood. Generally, it is the poor ones, who give the complete potamail (life story). The rich ones cannot give. They cannot surrender. Very rarely someone emerges (who is rich). For example, Janak is famous. She has children, there is a joint property; so how can she separate? How can the prosperous ones take out their (share of the) property so that they could surrender? The Father is a friend of the poor ones (garibniwaaz). The poorest ones are the mothers; poorer than them are the virgins. A virgin will never be proud of the inheritance. Sons are proud of the Father’s property. So, one has to leave all that and obtain the inheritance of heaven.” (Revised Sakar Murli dated 14.04.08, pg 3 published by BKs in Hindi, narrated by ShivBaba through Brahma Baba; translated by a PBK; the words within brackets in the English version have been added by the translator to clarify the meaning)

94-yr-old Dadi Janki comes home after 60yrs

Post28 Apr 2010

Karachi: In a simple, white sari and a modest but strong countenance, 94-year-old Dadi Janki, the spiritual guide of the Hindu caste Brahma Kumari, came back home after 60 years.
In her first visit to Karachi from Hyderabad Deccan, she spoke to a hall of almost 500 Muslims and Hindus, uniting them all under one roof. Dadi Janki, who was born in Hyderabad Deccan in 1916, is now internationally acknowledged as a spiritual leader of the Brahma Kumaris. Dadi (meaning elder Sister in Hindi) Janki has dedicated more than 70 years of her life to the work of the Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya (Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University).

She has travelled the world, advising politicians, leardes, businessmen and doctors on spiritual matters. At the event arranged by the Pakistan Hindu Council on Tuesday, Dadi Janki refused to accept any assistance walking when she interacted with her followers and admirers. “Karachi is now like Western cities with numerous cars and development but I can still feel inner happiness and peace even in this buzzing city,” she said. She stressed the importance of silence and introspection, saying that we should not spend our precious time by just talking. “Why talk when we can convey far more with silence, sight and simplicity,” she advocated.

She said that worry, anxiety and fear not only cause harm by accumulating pessimism but also waste time as they change nothing. “If we have courage, faith and honesty, God will see our strength and almost all that we aim to achieve will be achieved,” she said. Dadi Janki, who has 70 years of spiritual work and excellence to her credit, denounced all worldly and material things, saying that it is more important to possess courage, honesty and patience. “If [Iceland’s] volcanic ash can spread [throughout the world], then why can’t the message of love and contentment,” she smiled. As all the people in the hall closed their eyes for two minutes to see themselves for who they are, one could feel the energy of inner awareness and satisfaction fill the room.

Re: Dadi Janki and the Janki Foundation

Post29 Apr 2010

Dear Family, Om Shanti

Its a matter of pride for all of us that a book written by Dadi Janki ji "Companion Of God" was released in Urdu Langauge in Karachi in presence of lots of dignitaries & vip souls.

Tuesday 27th April.

Morning class was full with over 50 people. In the morning 4 cars left for the Yagya historical sites, Mala had identified an old derelict building which still showed some of its past original beauty, Dadi couldn't identify it from the front of the building but when we drove to the back there was an old broken gate, she then instantly recognised it and said that this is a home that Baba had set up for woman in bondage, the back of the building was just a few yards from Kunj Bhawan the home of the Kumaris with Mama. Dadi would go from Kunj Bhawan to the mothers home to conduct classes and would use that back gate. Standing there opened up the treasure store of stories and Dadi shared one of the stories. We drove around the whole block of Kunj Bhawan but at this point we couldn't enter. We have another appointment for that and Dadi recognised it immediately.

We then went to the site of Radha Bhawan, the building has been destroyed but the site remains vacant and close to that on the other side of the road is Om Niwas. Dadi shared how Om Niwas was the very first building occupied Baba and some of the Sisters. The building has now been destroyed but the site still remains with the walls clearly identifiable in particular a brass name plate embedded in the wall that gives the address and the name of owners of the land and the previous building. This is the address that has been used in all the early correspondence from the Yagya to the government.

This is also the site of the picketing that happened. The road is now one of the main roads and one could easily see how a few thousand people could have gathered there. A beautiful scene at the site of Radha Bhawan was that 3 daughters or the original laundry man of the Yagya Pooran Dobi came to meet Dadi. The eldest daughter is now in her late 60s and remembers when was 5/6 years old peeping over the walls of the terrace of her building which was next to Radha Bhavwan. Baba would conduct classes in the garden at 5am the place would be full not just with the Sisters but with people from outside who would even be sitting on the trees to listen to Baba. She remembers vividly how Baba would look the family so well. Each day breakfast would be sent to them and on special occasions of Bhog the family would receive all the special dishes made, when vegetables came to the Yagya Baba would send some of these for the family. She told Dadi that her family (the children) are now comfortably settled in Switzerland and she feels this is because of Baba’s blessings.

We went to Clifton (upper class residential area of Karachi) and we were able to see Baba Bhawan from the outside. The sea has now receded, but in the early days Babas room had a window that over looked the sea. We then went to Clifton Pavilion, the original dome is still easily recognisable and is in good condition. The sandy beach has now been replaced by a huge garden and the sea is now at quite a distance. We then went to Baba's current home which Dadi loves, and Dadi was absolutely full of stories at this is point and there was a very beautiful chitchat with the family.

Georgio (Madhuban/Italy), Jon (London), Mala (Jakarta), Wajeeha (Kuwait), Rekha (London) plus the BK residents in Karachi, Tony, Kathryn and Usha (UK) were with Dadi for the tour. In the evening there was a programme at the Beach Luxury Hotel. Formar Vice Chancellor, Sindh University, Mazhar Ul-Haq Saddique. Dadi’s talk was much appreciated and the Vice Chancellor was taking notes, the former President of the Hindu Council, the President of the Hindu Council were there. Everyone who had come to the programme were contacts, and came through word of mouth. An additional very beautiful ceremony was the launch of Dadis book "Companion of God". The publisher is one of the top companies of Pakistan and has distribution in outlets all over Pakistan.

The publisher spoke for a couple of minutes sharing how they had worked very hard to get the book ready for Dadis visit, the translator the bro of a contact souls spoke movingly of how Dadi was not just a world personality but is a woman of Sindh and how he had worked day and night to complete the translation in 21 days, because he had been inspired by the wisdom in the book.

Lots of love from Karachi

Re: Companion of God

And I am sorry to tell you that Dadi Janki did not write the book Companion of God. It was a compilation of material put together by a very dedicated Sister who is now also listed as ‘decimated’.
The Companion of God is a compilation of material that reflects Dadi Janki’s teachings, which is what I’m sure you meant. One has to assume that the Sister who compiled it was inspired enough by the content to gather it together. I am sorry to hear she is now ‘decimated’

Anyone know? Is BK cheating?
