The Brahma Kumaris are not Hindus. Brahma Kumaris do not practise Hinduism, indeed the teachings are entirely contrary to Hindu teachings. The BKWSU presents its self to official organizations such as the United Nations as a New Religious Movement. However, the teachings of the Brahmakumaris states that due to their short Cyclic concept of time, they are the originators of Hinduism but that Hinduism is a corrupt, incompletely remembered or metaphoric version of their teachings and practices.
Further more, believing that their founder is both the Hindu deities called Krishna and Narayan, and that they too will become worshipworthy Golden Aged gods and godesses, the Brahmakumaris teach that they will start the Hindu religion again, worshipping themselves in their deity form, in 2,500 years time.
