The term bhagat is used disparaging within BK circles in a similar manner to the way in which nigger is used to describe a black person. A religious devotee, a person that worships.

The term bhagat is used disparaging within BK circles in a similar manner to the way in which nigger is used to describe a black person. Any religious follower of one of the main or new religions is a bhagat over the last 2,500 years and on the Path of Bhakti, i.e. ignorance or seeking for God. Only BK Brahmins are on the Path of Knowledge and in a relationship with God.

The term is also used disparagingly towards other BKs that are "worshipping" a member of the BKWSU leadership, e.g "She is such a Dadi bhagat" or "Brahma Bhagat".
