Om

Om, Aum or Ohm is the most sacred syllable in Hinduism, traditionally symbolizing the infinite Brahman and the entire Universe.

The syllable is sometimes called the "Udgitha" or "Pranava Mantra" meaning the primordial mantra. It is considered to be the primal and sacred sound. Most Hindu mantras, such as Om Shanti begin with it.

Within the BKWSU, Om is translated as " I am a Soul " or " I am an eternal Soul ". The BKs do not believe in the dissolution of the self into the Brahman element but believe that each human being is an eternal soul, individual and independent.
