Yes, Baba Virendra Dev Dixit had studied scriptures before becoming a BK and then a Chariot. Like Dada Lekhraj he had studied Gita. Like most other Hindus he must have also studied Ramayana and Mahabharata. Besides I am sure he must have read Shiv Puran (mythological stories related to Shiv-Shankar), Bhaagwat (mythological stories related to Krishna) and some other scriptures. He has a considerable knowledge of Sanskrit shlokas, which ShivBaba quotes (through him) during clarification Murlis.
I have heard from PBKs that he had prepared a commentary on Bhagwad Gita, especially in relation to the BK & PBK knowledge. But unfortunately (I suppose) that is still in manuscript form and could not be typed in the form of a book so far. May be one day it will be typed and available to all of us to read.
Likewise, I am not sure if the thesis that he must have prepared during his research on the topic of 'world's first man' (
srishti ka aadi purush) is available in typed form or manuscript form.
