Om shanti!

It has been many, many years that I have been a vegeterian. It is simply amazing what we do to our friends.

I have so much compassion for those souls.

Most of there abuse has come from superstition, lack of knowledge, arrogance to name a few.

Our friends bring so much to our world it is a shame they are so mistreated.

They deserve better.

Animals also have souls.
They also experience stress.
On a psychophysiologic level, there is evidence that they can elicit a response analagous to the relaxation response.
They are also receptive to weak electromagnetic fields and thoughts.

Om shanti Bhai,

I agree when I would volunteer to walk dogs who where in a kennel at a no kill shelter.

They where so excited that it was rather funny. They almost didn'tknow what to do with themselves.

My friend greets me all the time with such affection it is incredible.

When my yugal leaves for even a few hours etc. he waits for her to come back and when she comes back it is like she has been away for a very long time. He smothers her with so much affection it is funny to watch.

I can't imagine what the souls who are considered as just food go thru.

Consumers of animal products, especially those who eat meats have been forced to re-consider their dietary options.
The out breaks of CJD, for example, has been cause for concern among many who consume beef. There is a plan to introduce the consumption of horse meat on a larger scale. There was substance to the post by Paul several months ago on cattle mutilations in the US. The US Government was secretly taking organ samples from cattle to test for CJD.
The reason for the plan focuses on the concern that prions, including the prion responsible for CJD are more widespread in cattle populations than tests can indicate.
The humane treatment of animals should not be limited to domestic animals. Non-domestic animals in captivity and in the wild are also the victims of human greed. Wars can damage the ecological niches of many species. Extremely low magnetic fields or ELF are useful for transmiting secret messages. However, ELF has been implicated in the strandings of amrine mammals. Underwater demolations can generate shock waves which can kill or damage the auditory organs of fishes. Global warming and pollution can also contribute to the harmful alteration of the homes of many animals.
Animals can enable humans to relax. Simply massaging a dog or cat can induce a peaceful state of mind in people. Viewin fish in an aquarium can also induce a state of relaxation. I am not sure if cats are experiencing a yogic state of consciousness when they glare at fishes in aquarium tanks! Laughing
The military should reduce its use of animals in warfare. Instead of live trained animals, robotic animals can be used in military operations.
Animals also need to experience the peaceful thoughts from yogis or those who meditate.

Yes, many souls are re-considering there food choices the difficulty lies in the addiction to such sources.

For example many people know about Mad Cow disease here in North America yet many will still comsume meat from cows.

But we have become masters at marketing that evan in our commercials we have provide that glamorous and healthy image of eating muscle.

There are some organizations such as

www.peta.org

That are giving some voice to the souls. Some may find them extreme but is not the actions of the souls who buy into the animal industry not as such?

Meat is disgusting. My partner and I recently ate out and he discovered later his soup had ham in it. He was very very ill that night and for a few days after. We dont realize the harm it can do not just mentally but physically.

OM shanti!

It is nice to see your typing.

I agree I had a similiar experience.

I do not go out to eat very much but my yugal and I where out for dinner before a broadway show and I ordered a pasta vegeterian dish.

I was eating the food that I thought was artichoke it was instead chicken. I of course immediately put down the food and brought it to the attention of the waiter. The restauraunt was so embarassed by this they of course did not accept any funds from us for my yugals meal.

I rarely eat out because of this because mistakes do happen and being in the food industry I know what goes on behind the scenes.

Besides the food at home seems to taste so much better.

There is no purpose or advantage in eating meat.

We live in a world full of false rituals.

Kyra,

When eating out, you may want to take along some activated charcoal tablets. The tablets, when ingested will absorb any of the toxins from contaminated foods. A suspension of Fuller's Earth when ingested is effective against toxins in the gastrointestinal tract. Edible aloe vera is also effective. I am sure you are aware of the potency of these products as counteragents against contaminants in foods.
There is always, the non-physical contamination of consumed animal products. On a chronic level, those who consume lots of meat have the tendency to look and act like the animals they consume. Those consuming lots of milk seem to have the somathotype of a cow. Those who are consuming lots of poultry have the appearance of chickens, including a reduced muscle mass of the lower limbs! The phenomenon is worth a scientific investigation.

Hi Hanuman,

I was not aware of these tablets but will look into this as they sound like something that could be useful now and then. Smile

You brought up a very interesting point.

I have noticed this very much so over many years. I would comment to my yugal how the costumes of people are becoming odd looking.

I thought it was just me that was seeing this.

Charcoal is a wonderful absorbant it is used in most chemical warfare suits to help protect the soldiers.

Many people who have colonic problems will use charcoal as a way of cooling and sucking up the toxins.

Yes I will admit once at a break up party at work, chicken peices - wings and drumbsticks were placed on a big tray in the middle with salads etc. I myself was a practising BK at the time, opting instead for my vegetarian pasta I bought from home.

I sat at the table looking around at my work friends consuming their lunch, eating with their hands and ripping the chicken wings apart and munching on the drumbsticks and it struck me how caveman like they were in their behavior.

Yes, I to have observed these types of actors as well. It is all very interesting to say the least.

In my world (North America) we have some unique rituals.

For example.

On one day in October we meet with family and friends and pray over a Dead Turkey and give thanks to God for the food we are about to eat.

We call this Thanksgiving.

What is also interesting is.

The actors who chose to bring there own vegeterian options etc. are considered as odd, strange, party poopers.

Some are even shunned by family members.

So it is all very interesting.
