There were two words that are used very regularly in daily BK life.
Limited and Unlimited.
I have my own thoughts on what these two words convey but I would be interested to hear the understandings/experiences of any other souls.

Wahl,
Can you tell me your meaning if these two terms for you and once there is a consistent thread maybe it can be posted on the BK Dictionary section?
What would be your meaning of attachment?
The new look is very mystic.
Regards,

Loving = limited.........this can be measured, someone is doing the loving and someone is being loved.........and for a certain amount of time.
Love = unlimited........it can't be measured in any way and Love can never 'not exist'.
Quote: | What would be your meaning of attachment? | I would say that attachment exists when there is dependency on someone or something (limited)........it is not Love, it is actually fear, because there is a possibility of losing something that is temporary.

This extract is from a book called 'Divine Beauty' by John O'Donohue.........I like his description of the unlimited aspect of the soul and the limited prison of the body, situations and relationships.
Quote: | "The soul is never fully at home in the social world that we inhabit. It is too large for our contained, managed lives. Indeed, it is surpirsing that the soul seems to accomodate us and permit us to continue within the fixed and linear identities we have built for ourselves. Perhaps in our times of confusion and forsakenness the soul is asserting itself, endeavouring to draw us aside in order to speak to our hearts. Upheavals in life are often times when the soul has become too smothered; it needs to push through the layers of surface under which it is buried. In essence, the soul is the force of remembrance within us. It reminds us that we are children of the eternal and that our time on earth is meant to be a pilgrimage of growth and creativity." |

Wahl,
Can you post this (Posted: Thu Oct 13, 2005 12:39 pm) in the BK Dictionary section for quick reference. John O'Donohue's version is too romanticized for people like me. I find learning is best with the average Joe (person), less fluff and more substance. Plain, simple and from the heart of ones experiences is best. Simplicity is true communication.
Thank you,
Tete |

Tete,
Maybe you should get some other opinions of what attachment is before posting my definitions. I have a short dictionary of definitions from my BK days. I will check it out and get back to you.
