Come to think of it, there are no saxophones in the picture of the Ladder to the best of my recall. |

heheheh
I actually went many times over a period of 10 years, sometimes twice a season, and had a few personals, and yes I noticed changes in atmosphere, but there again I was longing and wanting to experience.......wasn't I? |

Maybe you were. And now you repudiate that experience? |

yes I do question the validity of the experience, now that I have hindsight. I also questioned it at the time and also the whole 'yoga' thing, I was never sure at any point whether it was all self generated or 'external'
Now, I feel completely sure it was self generated, even the meditational experience. I personally never found the 'meetings' to be a pleasing affair, it alwas left me feeling dissappointed and confused, no super sensuous joy and all the things your supposed to experience.
I also feel self generated energy is fine by me anyways |

Dear Joel,

I'm surprised that you didn't notice the change in atmosphere, or the quality of the face and eyes that distinguishes the time Baba is there from when Dadi Gulzar is there. Probably you saw it only a few times. I saw Baba come over about ten years. |
What do you mean here by 'quality of the face and eyes'? Is there any objective physical change such that a passer by would notice? I don't mean change of expression, but something supernatural. I think not because Mr Green says he didn't see anything like this. I can imagine what you mean by the change in atmosphere - I don't tend to feel much supernatural stuff but there was one time I went into a room and there was a change of density like stepping into a swimming pool - and that was only with a dadi there. But I guess that could just be some kind of yogic power. I don't think any ex-BK disputes that there is great yogic power in BKWSU - the big question is what is behind this. I guess that XBK views are divided between those who think that there is some spirit possession going on but not involving God, and those who think that there is no third party involved. So the BK view moves to the XBK view but there are all kinds of variations and nuances here. The big question is what is the causal link between spiritual intoxication and the truth of the BK world view? For an XBK these two things somehow become de-coupled.

Do you know Amma aka Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi - she is famous for giving darshan for incredibly long periods of time. http://www.amma.org/ |
